The Magical Firction!

We could not have done a lot of tasks if there wasn't the magic of friction. Without friction, we could not walk properly and would be sliding all the place!

Friction plays a very important role in the control of motion. The rubber Belts (small and big) in our BuLoTM Robotronics kit serve this purpose. The rubber belts prevent skidding of the robot so we have control over the motion of the bot.

Motors in Motion!

Motors, are extremely useful in robot building. Motors can be used to give all types of motion to the robot - be it translatory, circular, oscillatory etc.

The motors can move in two directions - clockwise and anti-clockwise. The change of direction can be done by simply switching the polarity (connections on the battery) of the motor.

In the BuLoTM Robotronics Kit you can toggle the Motor Switches to change the direction of the motor. Check out next week's Weekly Video on Channel BuLoTM for more about Motor Switches and Motors.

Bonding Day!

A Bonding Day for fathers and sons:

It is just amazing to see how much imaginative and creative things can be done when the energies of fathers and sons are channelized at a problem. Well, if the problem is to make ROBOTS – the energy just gets exponential. Yes! This weekend 20 teams of fathers and sons competed amongst each other to create the best Robotics Design that can pick up boxes and drop them in a basket in a workshop organized at the British Council Library.

The task, given to the teams, was to create an object lifting robot that can pick up boxes and drop them into a basket. The teams had to use the concepts of simple and complex machines, pulleys, levers, wedges and mechanical advantage to create this object lifting robot. All of this was completed in three hours time followed by trial runs of all different designs. All the 20 designs created were highly sophisticated demonstrating that we will get few Nobel Laureates from this country in the times to come.

Although, every team was a winner in its own way, there was only one winner – and t
he winning team was awarded a Robotics Pack at end of results. All in all, everyone had a great time, paving way for a full-fledged Robomania workshop in the December break.

Hi there,

We all learn a number of concepts in Science and Mathematics in our school. But have you ever thought how this concepts can be useful to you? Or why do they teach you all this stuff?

You can get your answers at Robomania Workshops. In these workshops, you actually implement Science and Mathematics concepts taught in schools. And you realize that learning can be fun and exciting too!
Hi there,

The BuLo Fun Circuits is a pack of 4 different soldering kits. This pack includes :

1. Alarm Clock: An alarm based on Light Sensors that is buzzes as soon as sunlight falls on it.

2. Smiley: A blinking lights circuit which uses the Resistor - Capacitor - Transistor Logic.

3. Bike Flasher: An interesting Relay circuit that can be fixed pn your bicycle as brake lights.

4. Water Alarm : This is a circuit that warns us when water overflows from a tank.
