Robotics In Education 2009 - Jaipur Seminar

Teaching can be fun and exciting. That’s what the participants of the Robotics in Education seminar found out.


The seminar was organized in DPS Jaipur, NH-8 in partnership with Building Blocks, a Delhi-based organization involved in experiential learning. The goal of this event was to provide an insight on the application of robotics in teaching of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science.


The participants of the seminar were PGT teachers of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science from leading schools of Jaipur – Maharani Gayatri Devi Public School, Sawai Man Singh Vidhayala , Cambridge Court Public school ,Seedling Public School; St.Anslem Mansarovar, Airforce school etc.


The event began with a welcome note by DPS Jaipur representative Mr. Ravi. Then, Building Blocks representative Mr. Tarun shed light on the company’s mission to pioneer experiential form of learning in the Indian schools. Mr. Tarun emphasized on the intrinsic potential of hands-on learning to revive the Indian education system.


Further, the lead trainer from Building Blocks, Swati Sharma, conducted a Robot Building session for the participants. In groups of 2-3, the participants first designed the base of the robot using a 2Wheel Drive base.



After understanding the basic design of robots, the participants then moved forwards to design the body of the robot. The body was designed based on the aerodynamic principles.


Next, the participants created a Line Follower and understood the application of binary logic in Robotics.


The goal of this event is to introduce Robotics as a method of learning Science and Mathematics in the Middle School. The participants not only created robots but also understood the application of Science and Mathematics principles behind them.


At the end of the session, all participants were awarded participation certificates for their dedication and enthusiasm shown in the workshop.

Demo at Amity School



The Building Blocks team had conducted an informative demo at Amity School, Noida. In this demo, the participants got to know about our popular Robomanaia program. The demo began with a short video describing the structure of the program. The video included details about the Robomania levels, skills learnt and the products developed during the program.



The kids were also shown a working product - a Line Follower made with the BuLoTM Robotronics Kit. Watching the robot move on a black line, the kids got inquistive about working of the sensors. Our representative, Tarun Bhalla, explained to the kids the working of the Light Sensors used in the robot.
